About Me

Smiling woman holding a Feejee mermaid, wearing a green leopard print outfit, and a gold necklace.

Right then. Kayleigh Davies here. Fifteen years working as an auctioneer in regional auction houses tends to give you a certain perspective on old things.

I've handled everything under the hammer, but my first love will always be toys. I have a particular passion (some may say obsession!) for the 20th century British toy industry, so if you ever want to talk about what made Palitoy so special, get in touch. However, I love most areas of antiques and collectables – some more than others, I must say. Currently lending my expertise to Auctionet, an incredible European marketplace offering 24/7 auction goodness curated by those in the know.

My passion for the world of antiques has led me to some exciting opportunities. This occasionally involves being on the telly, specifically 'Cash in the Attic,' where I get to do my favourite thing, hunt down unexpected treasures. I also served as the toy consultant for Miller's Antiques Handbook & Price Guide – so I've literally written the book (well, a section of it) for fellow antique enthusiasts.

I have a Masters degree in Antiques, and my dissertation was on the value of bootleg toys. Don't make the mistake of asking me about it unless you have a couple of hours to spare.

So, this website is essentially my digital footprint. You'll find links to my professional ramblings. If you were Googling someone with deep experience in vintage toys or looking for a seasoned auctioneer with a passion for antiques, well, here I am.
